Abstract

The rapid advancement of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies has transformed traditional agricultural practices by enabling real-time monitoring of soil and environmental conditions. IoT-enabled soil monitoring systems generate large volumes of heterogeneous data from sensors measuring soil moisture, temperature, pH, humidity, and nutrient levels. Managing and analyzing these data efficiently requires the application of Big Data Analytics techniques. This paper presents an integrated framework that combines IoT-based soil monitoring with Big Data Analytics to support sustainable agriculture and precision farming. The proposed system collects real-time sensor data, stores them in cloud-based platforms, and applies analytical models to generate actionable insights for irrigation management, crop health assessment, and resource optimization. The integration of IoT and Big Data technologies improves decision-making, enhances crop productivity, reduces water consumption, and promotes environmentally sustainable farming practices. The study demonstrates the potential of data-driven agriculture in addressing modern agricultural challenges and ensuring long-term sustainability.
