Abstract

Nanofluid is a new type of working fluid with unique properties that enhance the heat transfer capability of heat pipes. With miniaturization and increased operating speeds of devices, there is a growing demand for innovative cooling concepts to ensure high performance. Conventional heat transfer fluids have low thermal conductivity, which hinders efficiency and compactness in engineering applications. This limitation can be overcome by dispersing nanoparticles into the fluid, thereby improving its thermal properties. In recent years, three commonly used nanoparticles—Al₂O₃, CuO, and TiO₂—have been widely studied for this purpose. This review paper summarizes the research conducted on heat pipes utilizing nanofluids as working fluids, highlighting their effectiveness in heat transfer improvement.
