Abstract

Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) has emerged as one of the most disruptive technological innovations influencing organizational functions worldwide. Human Resource Management (HRM), traditionally characterized by administrative and people-centric responsibilities, is increasingly integrating Generative AI to improve efficiency, productivity, and employee experience. AI-powered applications such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, and enterprise HR platforms are transforming recruitment, onboarding, learning and development, performance management, employee engagement, and workforce planning by automating repetitive tasks and generating intelligent recommendations.

This research paper examines the impact of Generative AI on HR operations and HR jobs using secondary research methodology. The study analyses existing literature, industry reports, and academic publications to understand how AI is reshaping HR functions, creating new opportunities, and presenting ethical and managerial challenges. While Generative AI significantly improves operational efficiency, decision-making, and employee services, concerns relating to algorithmic bias, employee privacy, cybersecurity, transparency, and workforce displacement continue to influence organizational adoption.

The findings indicate that Generative AI is not replacing HR professionals entirely but is transforming their roles from administrative support to strategic business partnership. Organizations that invest in AI governance, employee upskilling, ethical implementation, and continuous learning are more likely to maximize the benefits of AI while minimizing associated risks. The paper concludes that the future of Human Resource Management will depend on the collaborative relationship between human expertise and artificial intelligence.
