Abstract

Sustainable tourism has emerged as a crucial approach to balancing economic growth with environmental protection and cultural preservation. Heritage and culture are vital components of tourism, contributing significantly to national identity, social cohesion, and economic development. However, rapid tourism growth often leads to environmental degradation, cultural commodification, and loss of heritage authenticity. This research paper explores the relationship between sustainable tourism and heritage and cultural preservation. It analyses the importance, challenges, and strategies for integrating sustainability into tourism practices. The study highlights how sustainable tourism can protect heritage sites, promote cultural continuity, and ensure long-term socio-economic benefits for communities.
